The Label-
This piece of work was part of a magazine project I created during my Publication Design class. The assignment was to create an eight page magazine about anything we wanted. For my magazine in particular, I chose to do local restaurants within Johnson City, Tennessee. For this page specifically, the guidelines were, “the spread needs to be a six-column layout. You can only use two colors for this layout (1 Pantone color plus Black). This spread must include at least one drop cap, and one pull quote. You do not have to write the whole story, but must write the quote and headline. The subject will be about a theme related event if it were held in this region, or in your hometown.” I chose the Label which is a restaurant located in downtown Johnson City that has a large variety of food. The way I decided to list both of the requirements was by looking up reviews left by people who eat the Label, and to make a list of specific dishes at which they offer. I also wanted to incorporate images of discrete platters and drinks offered. I wanted to display these images in a unique and fun way different from the normal square or rectangular format.
