Sabbath Seven-

For an art show displayed at Dos Gatos coffee shop in Johnson City, my Typography class was each assigned a specific number to correlate to the exhibit. I was given the number 7. For this specific piece, I took a minimalist approach. The placement and the design of the number seven correlate to the picture itself. It’s mesmerizing how it luminates from left to right, allowing the eye to flow with the crashing waves directly towards the bottom of the seven, where the rocks coming toward the camera echo the direction of the strokes within the number. The number seven to me, is so calming and peaceful. It is known as the Sabbath Day, or day of rest. To me, when I think of a day of rest, I like to picture myself somewhere such as this peaceful picture.

This is a close-up version of my work.
