Jordan I-
This was part of an assignment I created during my Typography class. The assignment was to create a 16-20 page InDesign document and design a typography “art book” —a small book where you experiment with different visual styles, techniques, and requirements. For this specific page, the directions were to “create an image and type interaction and balance design page and include an image on the opposite reading page that compliments the type. Use a serif font.” For me, I absolutely love both the Jordan brand and Michael Jordan himself. Therefore, I created a book based on Michael Jordan relating each page to him while abiding by the rubric guidelines. For this page in particular, I wanted to depict a jordan shoe itself and recreate the image in the shape of a shoe while using typography. The thing I was trying to convey was a famous quote from Michael Jordan that says, “It’s not about the shoes, it’s what you do in them”. The image of a shoe was what I wanted to illustrate because I feel like it was only appropriate for this particular quote.
This is a close-up version of my work.
