This was part of an assignment that I created within Advanced Graphic Design and Branding. This was a group assignment where each student is assigned two words. The first word will be created using physical objects or materials to create the word. The second will be a printed word on a folded paper surface. The way I created this was through type. I found a specific typeface I liked and printed the word “that” on two pieces of paper. I folded both pieces of paper, and then placed one piece behind the other one creating a shadow. I then put the two pieces of paper onto the computer screen creating a light background to where the shadow is shown. When both papers are folded and the one piece is placed behind the other to create a shadow, it makes an illusion as if the letters are 3-D. This particular piece of work won the “Award of Merit” in the Juried Art Show at Milligan University.
