This was one of my first ever graphic design projects I created. This is my self-portrait I designed within Graphic Design I. For this assignment, you were to take a photo of yourself holding something you love, and then recreate the image by focusing on the shadows/highlights using grayscale shapes. I have played the game of basketball since I was four years old. It has been something that has shaped me into the person I am today; therefore, I included a basketball within my photograph. For this assignment, I faced many challenges. At first, just being able to focus on the different shapes based on the darker and lighter shades of gray, was hard for me. Especially when it came to my hair. I thought this assignment was extremely fascinating and was super interesting in the end. But, it isn’t one of my favorite pieces I have created and there are some things at which I would have done differently.
